Every year tens of thousands of foreigners come to the Republic of Belarus for work

To work legally in Belarus, all foreigners must obtain a special work permit

The official name is the special permit for the right to work in Belarus

What is a special work permit?

A special work permit is a document that allows the director of the company and his foreign employees to legally work in the Republic of Belarus.  This document must be obtained by every foreign employee

This procedure is free for investors working in the Republic of Belarus on the basis of an investment agreement signed with the state

 

Duration of consideration of documents

15 days

7 days - for investors who have concluded an investment agreement with the Republic of Belarus and are implementing investment projects, as well as if the employer is a member of the hi-tech park or the scientific and technological association "Infopark".

 

The validity period of the special permit

1 year

The validity of a special work permit may be extended once at the request of the employer. After the special work permit expires, the employer has the right to apply for the new permit

Note

If the employee ceases to work in the company, the special work permit must be returned to the immigration, passport and Citizenship department of the Republic of Belarus. If it is not returned, the fine is imposed on the company

Reasons for refusal to issue a special work permit in Belarus

In order to ensure the national security of the Republic of Belarus and public order, protect morality, public health, rights and freedoms of citizens of Belarus and other persons;

 

In the case of a foreigner who does not have a permanent residence permit in Belarus, he is a citizen of a state with a risk of illegal immigration;

 

During his stay in Belarus, a foreigner has committed administrative offenses more than once (five or more times) during one calendar year
